Emerich - Ingen föds till fascist (No one is born a fascist)
A short documentary about the life and deeds of Emerich Roth. Emerich was one of our last survivors of Hitler's war of extermination, where he lost almost his entire family. Only he and one of his sisters survived. Despite this, after his retirement he devoted 30 years of his life to spread his message of love and reconciliation - to never turn anyone's back, to always keep the door open and that everyone has the right to a second chance. How could he, who has every right to hate, reconcile with his perpetrators and not least the young people who during the 90s turned to neo-Nazi organizations? What does he have to teach the rest of us? Even though he had survived five concentration camps, he was always curious about people, making an effort to listen and understand, even those who think differently. Or maybe mostly them. Because no one is born a fascist.
Emerich passed away in January 2022 so a marionette puppet represents him, and actor Magnus Roosmann has given him a voice.
